Here are some links to the gun permits. There are several kinds.
Either you can take a class and be licensed to carry/buy/sell or you can apply for a permit on a yearly basis.
- 888e - A possession only license.
- 888e-sample - A possession only license sample.
- 909 - Non resident firearm application. Use this if you are without a POL or PAL license.
This is the form that needs to be filled out yearly if you haven't taken the POL or PAL classes.
- 910 - Non resident firearm application continuation sheet. Use this if bringing in more than three guns.
This is used in conjunction with the 909 form.

- Here is a link to the Manitoba Hunting Guide.
Specifically, here is a link to the page that deals with Non-Resident Application for Angling, Game Bird and Big Game Licences.
This is a new procedure to mail or fax in the information to order a hunting license and stamp. This method requires four weeks for processing, but may be a simplier method for some hunters.
Directions to Decoy Inn:
- Once crossing the border on I-29, it is 118 miles to the front door of the Decoy Inn.
- Drive North on Hwy #75 for approximately 15 miles. Turn left (west) on Hwy #14 towards Winkler. This will be about 31 miles (to next road turn). Go through Winkler (stop at Canadian Tire for License if you don't have one).
- Once through Winkler turn right (north again) onto Hwy #3 which turns into Hwy #13 at Carman and then into Hwy #430 North of Hwy #1.
- Approximately 58 miles north of Winkler you will cross Hwy #26 (a sign will say Poplar Point to the east and Portage la Prairie to the west). From this crossing go 12.6 miles north until you see a little "yellow church" on the corner of a gravel road (this will be one mile beyond a road sign that says St. Marks...the yellow church is not St. Marks).
- Turn left (west) at the "yellow church" (there may also be a couple of temporary signs in the ditch saying "Crooked Creek Lodge" and "Hand Carved Decoys") and go approximately 1.5 miles. The "Decoy Inn" has a large sign on the front on the north side of the road. The building is dark green in color with a tan garage attached to the back. It is across the street from two other homes.
- That should put you there...phone number is 204-243-2138.
